Return from long deployment

Casualties sustained by Library: 50 Pugnator, 30 Librarians, dead.
Civilians: 10 Dead
20 Injured (Psychiatric help provided by library resources)
Proxies: numbers unclear, 54 captured, 23 dead, some injured and/or escaped.

Mission objective: Aim of this deployment was to discern the reason for the gathering of proxy forces in certain points of the UK and Ireland.
Chief personnel in charge of parties include; Librarian Perierat, Pugnator Dominus, Librarian Obscuro, Pugnator Vindex and Pugnator Dolor.

Report: 25 Pugnator and 15 Librarians were deployed with each team, this was to balance fighting strength with hopefully the mental acuity to think and develop a reasonable  assessment of the situation, then organise the relevant response. With no information 200 Library personnel were dispatched to the main areas of suspicion hopefully to quell any proxy civil war that may be stirring, after 3 weeks it was decided that the majority of proxies gathered in the areas were proxies with no interesting abilities. After 2 days it was decided that we had sufficient manpower to take down these pockets of resistance, which we had estimated as 30-35 proxies per hideout, with inclusion of the librarians with basic combat experience able to take out the hallowed leaving the competent proxies to the Pugnator. This is not as it turned out on that faithful morning we all coordinated our attack to strike the places simultaneously, at 10:30 hrs we bust in the doors of the warehouses, the predictions were far too conservative the warehouse I personally led the charge into was packed with atleast 60 proxies, plus 20 campers, possible a few shards, nests, all variations of proxy, though I couldn't tell after awhile as, as soon as we had got inside the warehouse shutters crashed behind us and it all went dark then the random gunfire started I only caught brief flashes with the muzzle flashes I was taken off of my feet as a grenade exploded about 20 feet from where I was about. When I was conscious again I noticed I could see, though barely as blood came pouring into my eyes I noticed the proxies and the few Pugnator in front of me were missing some limbs and filled with shrapnel. I saw a few of my remaining people fighting back to the hole carrying a few injured people , I later found two were proxies we had taken prisoner.

I Stood up and ran as fast as I could in my disorientated state, I stumbled right into another person I think he was another person from my group but he was missing half his face and an arm, I assumed he was got by a shard. I ran still a proxy came up to me and before I knew it he fell down blood coming from his gut, I had forgotten I had the gun in my hand and not let go of it, I was grabbed from behind and dragged quickly to the others I saw it was one of the Pugnator covered in blood. We barely got out I only counted 17 of the people who went in had got out.

Pugnator Dolor's lot were wiped out, Dominus seemed to encounter minimal resistance while capturing a few and killing the rest. Half of the other teams met moderate resistance, It seems myself and Dolor took the brunt of the forces, there are reports to write families to console, and bury the few bodies we have. I didn't notice at first but I lost my right ring finger, Dominus has taken this chance to change the Library, recruiting harder men to be in the Pugnator, Mercenaries, killers, soon we'll be no better than our enemies. He's also demoted me in the organisation, one his few opponents, just like him, exploiting a tragedy to manoeuvre himself into a stronger position.

Analysis of the incident: IT was a massacre, we are none the wiser, I do not recommend trying it again, it's a massive blow to the Library

End report.

Clearance finally: Timor Lignum Homo

Timor Lignum Homo (TLH)

Colloquial names: Slender Man, the Tall One, the Tree Man, Slenderfuck, Slender, Faceless bastard, the operator. (To list a few)

Appearance: Height ranges from 6ft (180cm) to 15ft (450cm), this is dependant upon the individual view the entity along with some other aspect. The being takes a distorted humanoid shape with black 'tentacle' like protrusions from his back, sometimes giving him the appearance of a giant human shaped spider. TLH's skin seems to take the appearance of a suit although generally those who are unfortunate enough to get a close enough look describe it generally as a form of bark or rough skin. The one constant with this creature is that it is perceived with a blank white, featureless 'face.

Abilities: Numerous, Pyrokinesis, many individuals who have contact are rendered homeless by spontaneous fires started by TLH. Incomprehensible strength, speed and intellect, possibly shown by his ability to transport himself great distances in a fraction of a second, this is either caused by his great speed or the power that all the Timors hold within themselves. Tentacle like protrusions, used as an offensive weapon, due to the nature of TLH these don't seem to have much defensive use, although they could be used as such if TLH felt threatened. Telepathy, as this creature does not have a mouth it speaks directly into the victims mind, overwhelming it in some cases and causing sever mental breaks and possibly death.

Followings: This fear possibly has one of the largest voluntary human force of all the Timors, it's 'Proxies' have many organisations on many continents in almost all countries. These are generally a rag tag bunch of psychopaths, victims hoping to protect their family and the comatose piloted by a very basic instinct to kill.

Associated symbols: A X in a circle, also known as the operator symbol, a faceless stick man, these are early warning signs that an individual is being targeted by this being.

Threat level: High

Advice: If seen refrain from drawing operator symbols as they seems to have no defensive properties against TLH, though it may reinforce a subconscious connection with the symbol and TLH putting any victim in danger, including those around you.

Incident report: why I haven't been updating

I have been on a long mission with Pugnator Dominus and a couple of our colleagues, this one involved elements connected with Timor Lignum Homo also known as proxies, took us a month to track their positions and find their base. In true Pugnator style Dominus wanted to just bomb the entire building, he has no sense of subtlety or even diplomacy. We spent a week forming a plan of attack and waiting for the arrival of 3 more of the Pugnator, this made my fellow Librarian very anxious.

Studying the area around the base we found a concentration of operator symbols painted neatly, these obviously were not painted by runners. We also deduced it was a small to medium sized base from the number of attack and disappearances from the surrounding area, possibly 20 proxies at most, police presence is minimal, chances of success are high.

We moved in at night in a side entrance protected only with a padlock, the Pugnator went first making sure our presence wouldn't be revealed prematurely, I heard a crack and saw a body round the corner, luckily it was only a proxy Dominus had silenced.  We continued until we had reached the communal living area, I counted 16 in the area, I told two of the Pugnator to check the outside for remaining agents. They came back with the all clear leaving it to Dominus and I to reason with the proxies, I stood up along with Dominus and in a loud voice announced;

Librarian Perierat: You are now prisoners of the Library, you will assist us by not resisting, or the Pugnator surrounding this building will invade and kill you all without a seconds thought. Do you understand what has been said to you?
Battle Scarred Proxy: We understand, but these boys won't be taken out of Fathers service so easily, can you ensure that Father will not punish them for their failure?
LP: I can promise the Library will do everything we can to protect you as our prisoners, so do you agree to come willingly.
BSP: I guess we have no choice, boys seem you have been relieved from Fathers service, hopefully you can go back to your old lives after this.

One particularly young proxy shouted NO! and pulled a gun ready to shoot me, Dominus didn't even flinch, there was a hole in his head before the sound of his shout had faded.

LP: Any other objections?

We proceeded to transport our prisoners back to London for processing, we found we have: 3 hallowed proxies, 8 new recruits, 3 agents and 1 old agent.

I am to be shipped out on another mission soon, so radio silence must be maintained during it, hopefully, I will return.

Universi Parasitariis

It is widely held by all on these sites, blogger, word press, tumblr, etc. that we are not the only universe there are many that exist along ours including those of the Timors. It has occurred to some of my colleagues that whenever a universe 'interacts' with ours the energy from the other is generally drawn in, until the 'interaction' closes, or leaves. We have however, never seen our world leach into the worlds of the Timors, which are much larger, some say they may be infinite, than our own. Now you may say that our universe is also infinite due to some wibbly wobbly rubbish,  but we humans experience it in a linear time frame and 3 dimensions, whilst the Timors have to modify themselves in our universe because they exist in more dimensions than us.

This has led to a controversial idea to develop, one that the Pugnator are not fond of, this idea is that the universe connected to the Timors are parasites, for it takes the energy from these already big energy filled universes to grow fat and healthy. You may respond with the fact that when the universe or we are exposed to this radiation nature corrupts and our bodies are negatively affected. To that all I have to say is yes, this is also true with water, a beneficial and important part of biological processes and life, like oxygen but if they are present in too great a quantity then humans are negatively affected as well as the world. Therefore the acts of the Timors are those of self defence, not aggression, batting at flies, so therefore they can't get all of us, have you ever been in a swarm of midges you swat but you only get a small number.

It has also been considered as parasites are usually smaller and more numerous than the thing they feed on, you may have many mosquitoes or leeches draining blood from you but you are only one bag of blood feeding these large numbers. And we know the universes that aren't the 'homes' of the Timors, outnumber those that are, so it was reasoned that maybe we draw energy from their universe to help sustain the growth of our own, though it might not affect the Timors excessively it annoys them so they swat.

Timor Nativitate

It has indeed been the center of many debates within many circles, where as the Pugnator have little care we Librarians find it troublesome. From what we can discern  there are three possible origins for the Timors, the first being they are merely a creation of nature to replace the predators we have overcome already, so the Timors are here mainly to keep us from spreading to cause even more damage to the planet, so they only exist because we needed to be kept in check, hence why they don't kill all of us. Secondly, we have the main school of thought, that they are Fear, the abstract emotions, given life and form, and due this shared vision we have 'created' the Timors, through a sheer force of will. Because of this they have power over us and our world. Thirdly and most horrifyingly, they are merely extra dimensional beings that have no connection to us and are just looking for the most entertaining way to dispose of us all. This meaning when they are done they can move on to another planet or dimension, and decimate the native population.#

How shall we tackle this, well start with the main school, which seems to have fallen into disregard after the fall of the first scientists, but still seems to hold some merit among certain circles. I believe the important point to tackle here is the belief it is the collective belief in these entities that causes their existence, I believe it was called the Tulpa effect. We do luckily have many instances we can draw from to test this, in ancient Greece Aristotle said flies had 4 legs instead of 6, as we all know, this was believed for centuries as Aristotle was on such high authority. This however did not stop the flies having 6 legs, when someone finally bothered to check, and this was held by most of the 'civilized' world at that point. Then you have the middle ages where the earth was believed to be flat, as other wise the people on it would fall off, however we could not prove it was a sphere, well a squashed sphere, until the 20th century when we went out to space, this however is an imperfect example as before we had gone into space we had already had a decent idea the world was spherical, due to satellites and mathematical models. Again however the world did not stop being spherical in the middle ages, nor did it stop being anything when no one thought about it. Hopefully we have put that possibility to bed and locked the door, on the rest of that nonsense.

Moving swiftly on wards lets go to the extra dimensional beings, which care for us in the capacity of our death only expands so far as in the most entertaining way to induce it. I believe this is the second most likely possibility, as you have noticed the Timors have their own domains, places separate form our own, domains of unknowable size, connected to ours and many others, to be honest we could be the pocket dimensions to them, the much larger ones. With our world being the places that allow the Timors to interact as they may not be able to survive in the others universe. Since they have no connection to us as a means of survival they will merely wipe us when they deem it fit, or they get bored.

Now lastly lets move to my 'favorite' the one that supports symbiotic theory, that the Timors are made by nature to ensure we don't destroy the world, or ourselves, so they exist just as long as we do. I hear you cry however, but Perierat, nature creates life through natural selection a process that takes millions of years. To which my response is, life finds a way, no matter how barren or inhospitable somewhere is life comes, nature has a soul and mind to ensure life, the most improbable thing. Now I may have said humans can't do it, but the world is much bigger. They seem wrong to us as they are new and we have become separated from the earth, they feed off us and keep us in check, If we fall below a certain number they become less active, because they need us to survive, the ultimate symbiotic relationship.

Now This is all speculation, we know none of this can be proven, we can't ask a Timor for instance. All we can do is wonder and guess.

Aranea theory

For my return I have chosen to discuss the matter of universal interaction, it is widely accepted that many of those that interact with the Timors and record these incidents online are suffering from a phenomenon caused my the Timors. Here at the library we believe it is only one that is the cause, Timor Nihil, with its undiluted magnitude, it can draw universes towards itself, however there is the chance if it has sentience it could actively hunt them.

Now no individual knows how the universes exist and 'be' as we are subjects inside our own, but anything with energy moves and with the amount of energy each has contained within itself, it could therefore be deduced that they could move. This leads me use a theory popular theory in my universe it may not be in yours but I shall continue, string theory, everything in the universe is connected to everything else with sub atomic strings. What if Nihil had similar strings that floating universes could snare themselves in, whose to say every universe isn't already ensnared, so lets continue with that assumption. We have all seen spiders one of the oldest species on the planet, you might think of one and think of the archetypal orb web, however there are a few types, for example a funnel web, or tangle web, continuing with these most of the the threads are connected at certain intersections, and almost certainly not every universe is connected.

Now since I have set the premise I will introduce the Nihil's involvement in this theory, as we know it works by feeding off universes full of life and energy, which may make it the most powerful Timor hence possibly why it is one of the least active. We shall use Nihil as the spider in this analogy, say it makes it's 'web', now when a universe comes across these strings we believe it could attach to everything inside said universe with the sub atomic string we discussed earlier. The involved universe would then have it's entire timeline stretched out infront and behind it as it is pulled towards Timor Nihil, as matter is composed of existence in space and the ability to change and interact in that space and for that you need a time parameter in the universe linked  to all matter, Nihil again may feed of this change energy.

With this stretching the universe is weakened almost to breaking point, so when it interact with other universe the strings cross, when you have two exceedingly similar incidents occur in two different universe it is that, and withe the general vibration of the universe an these string we can interact with the people inside the others, if that is only through the web. Combine the universal vibrations and the weakening of the realms of the universes this becomes an extremely plausible explanation.

Or perhaps Nihil was created at creation or even it's cause and is merely causing a contraction towards itself. The other Timors which are other dimensional sized beings may inhabit the spaces between the strings, and have they're domains there making them free of Nihil's influence.

End of theory,

Suck that Dominus

The Librarian returneth

It seems there was a small governmental problem, they wanted to shut us down due to 'the lack of evidence of activity or threat' from the Timors.

Luckily, for us though it seems harsh, one of the officials children was taken by Timor Lignum Homo we have deduced and we are back to regular services.

However I am taking a day off today all this legal and budget stuff does my head right in, well atleast the conservatives didn't win this time.
